Classroom rules and policies
Classroom Conduct:
1. Treat others how you would like to be treated - Practice common courtesy
2. Bullying of others will not be tolerated
3. Please come prepared for class
4. No food is allowed at any time, including gum
5. Electronic devices must be silenced during class
6. Help keep the classroom clean
Attendance and Missed Work:
Please keep up with my webpage to keep up with missed work. Students will only be able to make up missed assignments and quizzes/exams on days with excused absences with a chance to receive full credit. It is your responsibility to consult me about making up missed work! When an assignment is missed, 10% will be deducted each day it is late.
2 free tardies are allowed each semester. Any tardy after the first two will negatively impact your participation score.
Classroom participation:
Each class will start with writing in journals. It is a free-write activity, allowing students to reflect on the previous day's topic. Journals will be collected at the beginning of each unit and graded for completeness. Because participation in class time is essential to grasp the understanding of science, I highly encourage all my students to speak up during class discussion.
We will be doing classroom activities that require everyone to pay attention and follow directions. To ensure classroom safety, please listen carefully.
